Paradigm Imaging Group Signs Distribution Agreement with Western Graphtec, Inc.

Costa Mesa, CA - November 18, 2002 - Paradigm Imaging Group, a leading provider of large format scanning and document management solutions, is pleased to announce their appointment as the U.S. and Canadian distributor of Graphtec scanners. Reinforcing its position as a leading supplier of quality imaging products, Graphtec introduces its new line of large-format scanning equipment designed for GIS, mapping, CAD and document archiving applications.

Paradigm President Randy Geesman says that the Graphtec CS1000 scanner will allow buyers who were thinking of purchasing a large format monochrome scanner to consider the CS1000 instead. "You get all the benefits of a 256 color scanner at a monochrome price!" Conventional color scanners have two disadvantages - slow processing of detailed color documents and high prices. Graphtec has addressed these market needs with the release of the CS1000EV - a monochrome scanner with 8-bit color capability. The new series of high-performance color image scanners provides a cost-effective solution for scanning multi-color drawings in GIS, CAD and other industry applications where 8-bit color scanners are considered the most cost-effective in terms of price and performance.

The CS1000 series are high-performance A1 and A0-size color image scanners designed for GIS, mapping, and document archiving applications. Colorful, complex maps, long-length monochrome drawings, even old blueprints can all be accurately scanned, at high speeds by the CS1000. If you need to scan, edit, and print out documents for GIS applications or archive drawings for easy reference, the CS1000 will handle it all. Regardless whether your documents are color or monochrome, the CS1000 scans them quickly and effectively. There are several driver-controllable speeds to choose from, depending on the type of document you plan to scan. Selecting a lower speed ensures that even damaged and delicate drawings are handled with care.

The CS1000 scans detailed road maps and contour maps, even extra-long documents, at an accuracy of ±0.1% ±5 pixels. Use Graphtec's Scanning Master Copy Color software to reproduce high-quality drawings that are faithful to the original. It even scans drawings for GIS and civil engineering applications, with ±0.1% ±5 pixels accuracy.
