LIMITED WARRANTY INFORMATION SUMMARY The scanner comes with a standard three-year on-site warranty against defects in material and workmanship of the scanner. If the customer has a problem, the Reseller or Paradigm Imaging Group will work with the customer to resolve the problem and to determine if the problem is caused by a defect in the scanner. The warranty does not cover the software or computer configuration, or installation issues. In addition, consumable items are not covered. Please see LIST OF CONSUMABLE ITEMS. The warranty does not cover damage to the scanner caused by misuse or neglect, or damage caused by shipping or moving the scanner from its initial installation address. If anyone other than a factory authorized personnel installs the scanner and the scanner is damaged during installation (i.e.: such as inserting the firewire cable improperly) then the customer will have to pay time and materials for a service technician to fix the scanner. If a technician is called on-site and it is determined that the problem is not covered under the TERMS AND CONDITIONS of the warranty, then the customer will be liable for time and material charges. Please see the WARRANTY TERMS AND CONDITIONS. At the end of the two-year warranty period, the on-site warranty agreement may be extended by renewing the agreement before the end of the existing agreement. If there is a lapse in the on-site warranty agreement, the service provider will require a maintenance visit (at customer's expense) before an agreement may be renewed. Western Graphtec Inc. makes no warranty claims with respect to this documentation and disclaims any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. WARRANTY TERMS AND CONDITIONS 1. Western Graphtec Inc. warrants this product against defects in material and workmanship for a period of 2 years, which is called the Warranty Period. This Warranty Period commences on the date of shipment from the Western Graphtec Inc. manufacturing facility. 2. The warranty does not cover damage caused by shipping. Western Graphtec Inc. and/or the Reseller will not be held liable for any loss or damage resulting from any delay in shipping or failure to give notice of delay when delay is due to any cause or event beyond Western Graphtec Inc. and/or the Reseller's control, including without limitation, acts of nature, sources of energy, riots, wars, fires, strikes, labor difficulties, and delays in transportation, or acts or omissions of customer. 3. The warranty includes parts (except the manufacturer recommended consumables), labor and travel to keep the scanner within factory performance guidelines, except as noted otherwise. All parts to be supplied on an exchange basis with parts replaced becoming the property of Western Graphtec Inc. 4. If a problem or defect is found with the Western Graphtec Inc. product covered under this warranty and hence within the warranty period, contact the Reseller from whom the Western Graphtec Inc. product was purchased. The Reseller will try to resolve the problems through telephone support or arrange for a Western Graphtec Inc. authorized repair technician. Our experience is that most problems can be resolved through telephone support. 5. This warranty does not cover products that are malfunctioning due to the result of accident, misuse, abuse, theft, vandalism, fire, water, or other peril or because of natural disasters or acts of God. Other conditions not covered under this warranty include use of this product under circumstances that are out of specification, such as electrical power, temperature, humidity, or by moving, repair, relocation, or alterations performed by someone other than an Western Graphtec Inc. authorized service provider, or by any cause other than normal use. 6. This warranty applies to the original, registered owner of Western Graphtec Inc. product and is non-transferable. This warranty stated herein constitutes Western Graphtec Inc. sole liability and the customer's sole remedy with respect to the products and is in lieu of all other warranties, liabilities and remedies Western Graphtec Inc. shall not be liable for any special, incidental, consequential damages, or for loss, damage, or expense directly or indirectly arising from customer's use of or inability to use the equipment either separately or in combination with other equipment, or for personal injury or loss or destruction of other property, or from any other cause. 7. Warranty service will not include electrical work external to the scanner, maintenance of accessories, attachments, machines or other devices not provided by the manufacturer, or repair of components, or peripherals damaged resulting from accident, neglect, misuse, or failure of electrical power or causes other than ordinary use. It will also not include painting or refinishing or furnishing materials therefore, making conversions, or adding or removing attachments or other devices. 8. The on-site warranty does not cover computer configuration, integration or software related issues. If it is determined that the scanner or software was installed improperly or that the scanner itself is not defective then the customer will be responsible for time and material service charges. 9. The customer is responsible for the purchase and maintenance of all consumables and operator cleanings as specified by the equipment manufacturer. 10. If any remedial service is performed on the scanner by any party other than a Factory Authorized Representative, Western Graphtec Inc. may, at its sole discretion, declare the warranty null and void. Service for any units discontinued hereunder will hereafter be furnished, if requested, at the established time and material charge then in effect. 11. Unless otherwise approved, warranty service will be performed during normal working hours, which are 8:00am to 5:00pm customer's local time, Monday through Friday, except holidays. 12. After hour service requested by the customer on all units, regardless of nature, will be charged at the rates then in effect. This service, performed entirely during the hours other than normal working hours, and so requested by the customer whether for their convenience or under emergency service required will be furnished on an "if available" basis. 13. Factory authorized service personnel shall have full and free access to the units to perform services thereon, and shall not be responsible for failure to render service due to any and all causes beyond its control. 14. Neither the benefits nor the obligations of this agreement are assignable or transferable without the written consent of Western Graphtec Inc.. 15. Any service calls necessitated by factors outside of the equipment covered under this warranty will be billed to the customer at then current time and material rates. Payment terms are net 30 days.
