Maintenance of you CS600 scanner requires:

  • Opening and Closing of the Top Cover
  • Cleaning the Document Hold-Down unit
  • Cleaning the Image Sensors
  • Cleaning the Paper Sensors

Activate the video by moving the cursor over the video clip to the right.

1. Opening and Closing of the Top Cover

Opening the Top Cover.

  1. Turn off the power to the scanner
  2. Push the Left and right open leaves on the top cover to unlock them and hold the middle part of the top covers while you open the top cover by about 90 degree.

Closing the Top Cover.

  1. Close the top cover until the left and right latches on the top cover lock into position.


 

2. Cleaning the Document Hold-Down unit

  1. Turn off the scanner
  2. Open the cover as describe above
  3. Wipe clean the underside of the document hold-down unit using a soft cloth that has been soaked in water or diluted neutral detergent and throughly wrung out
  4. Wipe the document hold-down unit once again using a soft dry cloth to remove all the moisture
  5. Close the top cover as describe above

3. Cleaning the Image Sensors

  1. Turn off the scanner
  2. Open the cover as describe above
  3. Wipe off any soiled areas on the transparent contact plates using using a soft cloth that has been moisture with water or a neutral detergent and firmly wrung out
  4. Wipe the transparent contact plates once again using a soft dry cloth to remove all the moisture
  5. Close the top cover as describe above

 

5. Cleaning the Paper Sensors

  1. Turn off the scanner
  2. Open the cover as describe above
  3. Wipe the two paper sensors using a cotton swab
  4. Close the top cover as describe above
